Don’t look back

By Tafadzwa Hove

In life we should always strive to look forward and avoid the trap of looking back. When we face life’s uncertainties we tend to blame our family background, poor education, economic crisis in our nation and some unfavourable circumstances taking place around us. Why do we forget what the Word of God says in Isaiah 43:19 which says, “Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth, shall you not see it? I am making a way in the wilderness, and a river in the desert?.”In other words, you can only look forward by depending on the Word of God.

Avoid the trap of looking back unless it is to glorify God for what He did for you in the past. Upon all the promises of salvation Lot’s wife had received, she looked back hence she became a pillar of salt. Do you see the snare of looking back?

Satan can only manipulate us when we look back. He is in the past.Satan discusses our past because that is the only information he has about us. In other words, the devil is the past whilst Christ is the future. Therefore as children of God, we cannot look at two directions at the same time. NO! That is why we fail sometimes. Right now Jesus is calling you to look forward to Him and discover new strength, new courage. Discovery is for forward lookers, not for those who only think about the past. It is by looking forward that you discover new things, new horizons and new opportunities that you would not have ordinarily dreamt of.

Look forward to Jesus today the only one who discusses our future.

Love is life, life is love

By Tafadzwa Hove

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Nothing would please God more than showing love to those who are sick and in need, especially to strangers. Obeying God’s commands (loving our neighbors as ourselves, loving one another) is the only way to show that we love Him.

We should always aim to seek out those languishing on sickbeds and not only show love to them through giving but also to nurture genuine friendship with them.

There is need to demonstrate love for God, which requires us to help those in need at all times, whether or not we know them.

SET YOUR FEARS ASIDE

By Tafadzwa Hove

The Lord is my light and my salvation, who shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1

The one who is on your side supporting you is greater than he who is in the world. The Holy Spirit has conquered all our fears.

Fear itself is even more misleading than Satan himself. Fear causes us to get off track and lose focus. Fear causes our hope to shrivel and die. Fear makes us to be afraid of the future. Fear causes us to be afraid to challenge whatever situation that comes our way. Fear makes us afraid of the future, career failure, sickness.

Many masses out there have become slaves to fear while deep down in their hearts they dream for a miracle. Fear is Satan’s most destructive tool that has robbed many of their victorious lives in Christ Jesus.

The hospital beds, graveyards and prisons are full of people who have failed to challenge and resist fear. God has promised us many miracles and blessings but this has remained a dream to many people because they failed to conquer fear.

What are you afraid of? Remember you have the Holy Spirit your comforter who has conquered and overcome fear for you. Always put in mind that the Holy Spirit can completely destroy all your fears in Jesus ‘name.
